a Like a graphic design improv session; two designers will swap a layered Photoshop file back and forth in real-time as their creative process is projected on a large screen for all to see. In a series of 6 alternating rounds (3 per player), the competitors will have 15 minutes each round to embellish, advance and build upon each others previous work.

Chinese Coin showFebruary 2 - 7pm
a Join us for the opening reception and a short presentation by archaeologist James Mooney of Ecofor Consulting Ltd. on the Chinese coins found in the Yukon and their significance. This display also includes a selection of historical coins and tokens now in the MacBride Museums collection and other collections. This exhibit will run at MacBride until April.

a Copper Moon Gallery is opening its new season with Halin de Repentigny. Halin has been busy wandering the back trails, discovering the bends and corners in the Whitehorse area. Skookum Jim Folklore ShowFebruary 4 - 7pm
a Since 1973 the Folklore Show has been an annual celebration of both local (Yukon) and National First Nation Performing Artists. This year's Show features local talent Dennis Allen, as well as the inspiring Tr'ondek Hwech'in Han Singers from Dawson City.     Untrue North ExhibitionJan 12 - Mar 10
    a Untrue North depicts the romantic beauty of the North-for instance, photos of the Rocky Mountains. However, both subtle and overt allusions- to Romantic art and canonical landscape painting as well as to commercial nature photography, tourist postcards, various advertising media, and Hollywood film-show the romance of these landscapes to be more culturally constructed than actual. Accordingly, the exhibition asks whether the North can be truthfully represented in art, free of media and art historical mythology.
